I'm in the same boat, my friend. I want to keep my life, my technology, and my art in separate places. However, there are times when the three come so close to one another that it's hard to decide what to put where. What I do now, is put everything in one spot with categories. If people don't like reading everything I have to say, then they can pick a category or two to read instead. However, I'd prefer it be in separate spaces. I just don't know how to cut myself into three distinct pieces.

Eggggzackery. I use categories on both sides of the coin, but they are disproportionate. I have 3 or 4 categories on the personal blog, but about 20 on the G-Philes. The more I think about it, the more I feel I need to sit down for a whole week and do nothing but fix up my domains.

But then I remember what Jimmy Buffett said in Fruitcakes: "I don't want that much organziation in my life. I don't want other people thinking for me.
I want my Junior Mints. Where did the Junior Mints go in the movies? I don't want a 12 lb. Nestle's crunch for 25 dollars. I
want Junior Mints!"

I've often considered the same thing. And who knows, maybe some day, I'll do it. But, as it stands now, I'm leaving things the way they are. If people don't like having to skim over my tech posts to get to something I've said about my love life, then that's fine.

To be perfectly honest, I don't get a whole lot of joy in reading the political commentary you often post on G-Philes. But, I also know that you often post funny, enlightening, and heartfelt information that that I would be interested in. So I skim over G-Philes once every couple of days... just in case. Sure, it would be easier for me if you some how managed all of your resources exactly the way I wanted you to. If you somehow could decide before hand what I will find interesting and what I will not and put them in separate locations. But I don't think you are obligated, in any way, to do that.

I can't honestly say that I am interested in EVERY post of ANYONE on the list of sites I read. That's life.

I say, write for you. Make you happy. If other people like it -- great. If not, that's fine too. And while you're at it, hook me up with some Junior Mints.
