Elton and Billy were, of course, phenomenal. Their pianos ascended from underneath the stage, they did a few duets, Elton and his band rocked the house, Billy and his band did the same, and then they ended together again. They covered “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Great Balls of Fire.”
They ended with “Piano Man,” Sir Elton in his FUBU jumpsuit and union jack cowboy hat.
Hungry Bastard did not make an appearance. Enos and I did not take our usual Black People Count.
On an unrelated note, I know that Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids, and that in fact it’s cold as hell. But, “there’s no one there to raise them if you did?” Did what? I don’t understand. Hold me closer Tony Danza.
