This writeup on E2 about memorable lines from video games is OK, but it saddens me that it is closed. The quotations there are mostly mediocre, many of them from games with very little plot to make any of the lines worth more than words they are composed of and the minimal level of nerd [...]
Check out my threaded comments. I’m still toying with the layout, but they work. You can also now choose whether you want notification when someone replies to your comment.
I also installed SimpleComments, to make TrackBacks and Comments all show up as Comments. Someone needs to ping my ass to see if I did it properly.
I’m bringing my dad a late Father’s Day gift this weekend: a 15 DVD-R set of the entire Star Trek: The Next Generation series. He has an old Creative DVD drive (along with the decoder/NTSC-out card that came with it). I’m afraid that his drive won’t read these discs, so I’m also going to give him my 16x Pioneer DVD-115 drive. However, with that, he’ll be stuck watching them on his 17″ monitor rather than his bigass projection TV. Both of our gaming machines here have video cards with S-Video/RCA outputs, which we rarely use. I considered buying a new card for one of them and giving him the “old” one, but I just can’t justify spening money on a new video card right now. Does anyone have any old NTSC video output card lying around that I might buy from you sometime this week before I leave?
All my mail is screwy right now. I should still get anything you send to me at any address you know, but it might take me a while to get it and respond. I can also say with almost 99% certainty that if you send me an email and do not get a return error, [...]
I have three weeks to find a job. 2 of my 3 good leads fell through. I have a few calls to make today.
Once I’m done backing up all of my videos to DVDs, would like to have my old CDRs? It isn’t much, but it’s a start for someone wanting to collect MST3k, NewsRadio, The Family Guy, or a few other shows.
On CDR I have:
MST3k episodes
0101 - The Crawling Eye
1013 - Diabolik!
0207 - Wild Rebels
0813 - Jack [...]
Does anyone know of a reliable way to convert QuickTime MOVs to another format?

Uggh. Apparently SoBig is fucking up Verizon’s connection to Level3. On our end, we’re getting damn-near 1 second pings. We were going nuts today, thinking something was wrong with our router or one of the switches or one of our XP boxes had a virus or something.
I hope they fix this shit soon. Not only [...]
