I still don’t have this place organized the way I want, so I’ll just stick this here: If you’re using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 (reader or writer), and you’re sick of it taking so long to load, just go in and remove a bunch of the included plugins that you know you’ll never use. Mine went from taking close to 35 seconds to load up (on a P4 2.2GHz with 1GB of RAM) to about one second flat.
Also, thanks to all my n’uhs for the suggestion on bike transportation. On the advice of Dan, I think I’m going to look for a bike that I can fit in my hatch. Hopefully I can find one that has a quick-release front wheel.

As suggested by him, I’m not going to give out the plugin I wrote for mass consumption, lest the spammers catch on, but I will tell you how easy it is to cook up your own for obscurity’s sake.
