I’ve always felt sorry for those people who have to stand out by the highway in the middle of July wearing an enormous plush cow costume to try to rope people into Larry Laredo’s Leather Labyrinth or whatever. Most of them are probably illegals who really don’t have a choice if they want to keep their jobs. I’m sure there are some people whose ONLY job is to stand outside in such an outfit and make a complete asshole of themselves.
Well, today I saw something really cool on the way to work. I couldn’t get a picture because I was driving too fast and was late to work, but it’s not that difficult an image to convey:
A white kid, probably about 11, standing near the corner of Custer and Park, advertising his folks’ garage sale in a Garage Man costume. His torso was covered in what appeared to be a cardboard microwave box with holes cut for his arms. His head was a smaller box (maybe a toaster) with mouth and eye holes.
That’s cool.
