Zithromax was supposed to kick my infection’s ass, but it appears to just be kicking mine.

Apparantly I was not supposed to have as much fun as I did this weekend. I have been laid up since Monday evening. I’ve never had pneumonia (and supposedly I don’t now), but this is precisely what I always figured it would feel like. I have uncontrollable, violent coughs every 20 to 60 seconds. My throat is raw. My lungs feel like brand new 2-liter Coke bottles, but instead of Coca-Cola Classic, they’re filled with new Coke Brand Brownish-Green Snot.

I didn’t really feel all that beat-up until after dinner tonight. I took Zithromax (5-day antibiotic) about an hour before dinner, just as directed. Shortly after dinner I felt a bit tired, so I laid down. 4 hours later I woke up after some very weird and primal (no, not like THAT, dude) dreams feeling like I had just arm-wrestled an elephant, lost, and as penalty for losing had my lungs filled and muscles replaced with elephant feces.

I sound like a dork, but the worst part about all this is that I hate missing work. I’m still working from home, but there’s a lot I need to get done AT the office. I’m sure the guys understand, but I really feel like I’m letting a lot of people down.

Dude, sounds rough. I can say that the Zithromax killed the cough I had been dealing with for more than three weeks when I got put on it, so hopefully in a couple of days you start feeling better. At least you can still speak coherently ;)

Man, Azithromycin totally screwed me up. Gallons of yogurt afterwards, and I’ve never shit normally since.

It also made me feel achey and bleh.

Not that you REALLY needed to know that, other than to make sure to take probiotics for a long long time afterwards.

But, for some people it works so well it’s worth it.

Get well soon, and keep immodium nearby.
