The arrival of Logan

Last night I received the best housewarming gift so far, as well as a new roommate. We’ll probably have photos later, but Laura brought me a sweet basil plant, whom I named Logan. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of great times admiring and eating Logan. You can meet him Saturday if you come to the party.

Don’t forget about those door prizes.

When I first looked at your caption, I figured you were going to tell us of a new puppy - but plants are nice too. :)

I hope I get a chance to eat Logan… it’s been a while, but if I remember right, you’re a damn good cook.

I know - that’s what initially made the announcement so amusing. ;)

People back home here keep callng and asking to see pics on my site of your new home so they will have an idea what to get you… Can you hook us all up there?

I name my plants, too. I had a ficus named Phil. He died, but not before I took a cutting and planted him. He is Phil Jr.

I had a Sylvia Hibiscus named, of course, Sylvia. I had an older Hibiscus that became Sylvia’s Mother.

There was also Freddy Photinia and a palm named Rosie.

Our new house has banana trees. They are named Dead Meat. I hate ‘em and they will be chopped down.
