- We’re back from Beaumont. It was a great trip, and I miss everyone already. I just hope that if/when we move back, I figure out why I have a constant migraine while I’m there and fix it.
- The special edition of the NotPodCast is up over there.

Tonight I have a bunch of crap to do in preparation for our trip to Beaumont. I hope to leave bright and early tomorrow morning.
In case you didn’t notice, we posted our special holiday episode of the NotPodCast. It turned out to be friggin’ hilarious. We have more fun with this thing every week.
Tonight will be the last live Gentle News show until next year! So pour some eggnog and listen in. We might have a Christmas/Holiday theme. We might not. We might ignore the season altogether. You never know.
Now, I know the topic of this entry has some of you very upset. I mean, who wants to [...]
Jim whipped up a nice little template for our Show site, and the feed is now up. So, we’ve killed at least two mice birds:
* We now have a feed that all the hip, iPod-totin’ nerds can subscribe to
* Our site is purty and we can put show news there instead of here
Spread the word! [...]
After who knows how many years of “I’ll do it next month”, I finally sat down and came up with a preliminary personal budget. As expected, it ain’t pretty. I should have done this a long time ago. If I hadn’t done it now, we could have been in a lot of trouble very soon.
We’ll [...]
Winnie the Pooh needs a fresh of breath air
December 14th, 2005 in NotPodCast and Potpourri. 0 CommentsTonight’s show is up and rock hard. A few firsts on this episode:
- Our first Internet show crossover
- Our first interview with Reverend Robert Tilton
- Our first caller from an Outback Steakhouse (thank you, Gladys)
I truly enjoyed this show more than any other before it. It was fun, it felt natural, and it didn’t require [...]
You know the drill. Listen. Tonight. 8:31pm CST. Bring a friend. Tell a friend. Tell an enemy.
The more the merrier. Pray for another call from Gladys.
If you call and don’t get through, leave us a message.
I need to be reprogrammed. I take things much too personally. When someone makes a direct or indirect assertion expressing negativity for something I said or suggested, I get very upset. It consumes me and it’s all I can think about for hours, sometimes days.
I know I shouldn’t be like this. I should always live [...]
The recording industry is back with more brilliant ideas
December 7th, 2005 in Audio, Media and Potpourri. 3 CommentsThis guy created an app, a special-use browser of sorts, that displayed the lyrics of a song being played in iTunes if they were in the ID3 tag, and looked them up on the web if they weren’t, saving them to the file in the process.
Warner shut him down. What the hell is this? Exactly [...]
Tonight’s show is up and at ‘em. I’ll have a transcript of the Tittiesburg Address soon.
I am really enjoying this, with or without listeners. Gladys called again, Jason called again. It’s just a hell of a lot of fun, and I couldn’t ask for a greater bunch of people to do it with.
Well, I guess [...]
